Residents of Świątniki have been connected with Wawel Cathedral for centuries, and have always shown great religious devotion, hence more than forty roadside shrines and crosses in the locality. The earliest is the statue of St Stanislaus, founded in 1794 in honour of Świątniki’s patron saint and protector. It was renovated in 2005 thanks to the effort of the Świątniki Friends Society and students of the local lower secondary school. The 19th-century statue of St Florian stands in the centre of the locality. It was built on the site of the first 16th-century church at the crossing of two former royal routes.
